2013 Trek Dual Sport 8.1 Review - Road or Trail

2013 Trek Dual Sport 8.1 is the perfect bike for folks who need one bike that will take them on the road or the trail.

Get ready for this! The 2013 Trek Dual Sport 8.1 was really designed as an entry level bike for commuters, fitness junkies, and recreational riders. It is durable, reliable, and fast. Fitted
with Shimano parts permeate the entire frame, from the shifters to the rear derailleur.

This bike is not all business, though. It’s name is Dual Sport and it’s exactly that. Not only can you take this back and forth to work, or have some fun riding with friends, but you can also take it on some dirt trails or fire roads and know that it’s still going to perform well.

One of the ways Trek has accomplished this is by designing a 700c rim diameter to allow for a huge choice in tires. You can even add a more substantial tire than the stock 38c tires as a result of the amount of frame clearance on the 8.1 DS.

This year, Shimano has included the “mega-range” sprocket — giving you an ultra low gear for hills or offroading.

You can come to Bumstead’s Bicycles at 1038 West 4th St. in Ontario to take a test ride. You can also give us a call and we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have. (909) 984-9067

2013 Trek Superfly Elite 29er Hardtail - Review

2013 Trek Superfly Elite 29er Hardtail

Look Fly As You Fly By on the Superfly.

Trek raises the bar for 29er hardtail mountain bike performance with the  2013 Trek Superfly Elite 29er Hardtail. Trek’s mountain-specific carbon fiber is tougher carbon, with unique materials and layup procedures, Trek’s advanced engineering, and a higher standard of testing. Trek has also included a more robust and confident rear axle that is about 35% stiffer than an open dropout design. And with the 29” tires, you can carry more momentum, roll over obstacles easier, and expect more stability and traction than standard 26” tires. The bottom bracket is the stiffest carbon on the market, and is exclusive to Trek.

Shimano does the entire drivetrain, making shifting dependable, easy, and quick. The shifters, front and rear derailleur are all Shimano Doere, socompatability is a non-issue. Even the brakes are Shimano Deore XT hydraulic disc brakes, which means stopping power is fantastic. The 29” tires mentioned earlier are done by Bontrager, as well as the Lite Tubeless Ready Disc Race Wheels.

2013 Trek Remedy 9.9 Mountain Bike Review - You'll Love the Look

2013 Trek Remedy 9.9 Mountain Bike

Mountain biking has been taken to the next level with Trek's 2013 Remedy 9.9. It's got an ultra light frame, 150mm of travel in it's suspension, and super precise handling. Trek lays the foundation for the greatness of this bike by using its OCLV mountain carbon. They tailor it to the rigors of off-road use. They preserve the lightweight and great carbon feel, while at the same time reinforcing all the right areas. The 9.9 is the ultimate tough, technical trail bike that goes anywhere.

There are tons of features on this bike for the avid trail rider. CTD suspension is available on select Fox shocks and forks, and it is a simple, intuitive, high-performance system that gives you three suspension options: climb, trail, or descend.

There are tons more features for the avid trail rider. DRCV front and rear shocks offer efficient, simple, and plush big hit control. There's also the full floater suspension system that attaches to the bottom of the shock at two moving linkage points in order to better respond to bumps on many types of terrain.

One thing that Trek has implemented for extra ease of the ride is a Reverb seat post. This seat post gives you 125mm of controlled-speed seat height adjustment with an hydraulically actuated handlebar-mounted remote. Trek even sealed it off with a custom sealing system, ensuring quality even in bad weather.

There's a reason why Trek is one of the number one brands in the country. To see all of those reasons, you need to test ride a bike like the 2013 Trek Remedy 9.9.

Trek's 2013 1.5 Road Bike - Review - Great Value Bike

2013 Trek 1.5 Road Bike

The 2013 Trek 1.5 Road Sport Bike

An absolutely amazing value!!

Trek pays the same amount of attention to detail and features on their entry level sport bikes as they do on their high-end bikes. The frame on the 1.5 is Trek's 100 series Alpha Aluminum, and it comes with 10 gears which is the standard in race performance gearing. It's compact 2 chain ring crank saves weight while still offering a great combination of climbing power and flat land speed.

Trek uses their classic H2 fit which puts a slightly higher head tube than normal, giving extra comfort to the back and neck. It's tour tested geometry has the perfect balance of handling comfort and acceleration.

Shimano Tiagra STI shifters are an awesome addition for the 1.5. They are trigger shifters that have a nice optical display for easy gear reading, and contain both the up/down triggers and the brake lever in one spot, allowing for a more efficient ride. The front and rear derailleurs are also by shimano, as well as the 12-30, 10 speed cassette.

The comfort aspects of the bike are handled easily by Bontrager. That means you can trust that the saddle, handlebars, and grips will have excellent geometry and will help to reduce road fatigue over longer rides.

Come check out this very affordable but very nice bike at Bumstead's Bicycles. We are located at 1038 W. 4th St. in Ontario. 909-984-9067

2013 Trek WSD 7.6 FX! Review: Check it Out for Yourself at Bumstead's Bicycles

2013 Trek FX 7.6 WSD Women's Specific Roadbike

Trek knows that a great fitting bike is a joy to ride. They implement their Women's Specific Design to maximize comfort, stability, power and control. It's not hard to see why women love the 2013 Trek FX 7.6 WSD. Some may call it a fitness bike, but there is so much more to it.
Trek uses their standard Alpha Gold Aluminum frame, although this bike is anything but standard. To start, Trek engineers have spent more than a year designing what they call the IsoZone damping feature that absorbs road buzz at a critical point in the frame, effectively reducing rider fatigue. It kills vibration that the rider feels the most at a rate twice that of any other system on the market. To add to this comfortable feature, Trek also placed lightweight carbon fiber legs on the fork.

20 gears on an FSA Vero Crank and a Shimano drivetrain show that this bike isn't all about comfort. It's Shimano Deore 10 speed shifters are trigger actuated, making it amazingly easy to shift. The Shimano Tiagra front derailleur and Deore Shadow rear derailleur to make compatibility a non-issue.

What else could you need? Stopping power! Tektro RX 1.0 brakes are easy to adjust, and the levers can be fine tuned to brake as hard or soft as you need.

Come to Bumstead's Bicycles today to check out this incredible fitness bike. We are located at 1038 W. 4th Street in Ontario California. You can reach us by phone at (909) 984-9067 and visit our website for more information www.bumsteadsbikes.com
